P1 restrictions

You have to obey the following conditions on your P1 licence:

• always carry your licence on you
• display red on white P plates and ensure your P plates can be seen from the front and back of your car
• drive no faster than 100km/h even when a higher speed limit applies
• have a blood alcohol content of 0.00
• not use a mobile phone
• obey all Tasmanian Road Rules
• obey peer passenger restrictions.

You can tow a trailer on your P1 licence. You must ensure your P plates are still visible, attaching one to the rear of the trailer if the trailer would block the rear plate from view.
