Logbook Update Frequently Asked Questions


These FAQs are relevant to common issues that users may experience during updates to the Plates Plus logbook app. The general logbook app FAQs page includes further information about using the app.

Exciting improvements are now available to install in an update to the Plates Plus logbook app.

The improvements are aimed at making it quicker and easier to log your practice and include the following:

  • Automated weather entries: The app can automatically log your trip’s weather conditions for you based on your recorded location. No more fussing over forecasts – just hit the road, and let the app do the rest!
  • Night-time driving detection: Driving under the stars? The app now includes an automated feature to identify when the sun goes down and automatically records your night-time driving hours for you.
  • Tailored trips: Your journey, your rules! You can now select multiple driving conditions for your logged trips (including road type, traffic conditions and weather).
  • Support for operating system features: Need a hand? Features like Siri Shortcuts and dark mode are now supported.

Please make sure that:

  • All your trip data has synced before you update so you don’t lose any trip data.
  • When the update is available, you update all devices where you use the Plates Plus logbook app to the latest app version to avoid problems syncing data between the two versions.

Double check the email you’ve entered is correct as well as the password. Tap the eye icon to see the password you entered. If you’re still having trouble logging in after checking your email address is correct, get in touch with support .

If you can’t remember the email address you used to sign up for the Plates Plus logbook app, have a look in your different email accounts for a previous verification email from when you signed up to Plates Plus.  If that doesn’t work, get in touch with support and provide your licence number so we can look up your account.

You should still be able to login even if you don’t have access to your old email account. However, if you ever need to reset your password in the future you’ll need to get in touch with support to help update your account email address to one that you have access to.

Wait 10 minutes and then try to verify your licence again. If after an hour licence verification is still not available then get in touch with support.

If only a few recent trips are missing, the trips may not have synced before the app updated. You will be able to manually add these trips to your logbook.

You likely have multiple Plates Plus accounts and may have logged in under the wrong account. Log out and try logging in with a different email address. If you can’t remember the email you signed up with, get in touch with support and provide your licence number so we can look up your account.
